Brand Guide Hub

over 2.200 Brand Guidelines and Design Systems for your inspiration

Insights

Things that have caught my eye, that I like or, well, perhaps find a little impractical. A few highlights, a few surprises, tipps things like that. I update this from time to time.

If you find out something or have questions or ideas or need details... I look forward to talking to you.

#1 Which system is best for my brand portal?

In my projects, in addition to all the issues surrounding the development of the brand, there was always the question of how best to prepare the guidelines for your own target group and how it fits into the digital ecosystem.

To be able to compare this and show examples, there is this list in which there are pages of most content management systems and SaaS solutions such as Frontify, Zeroheight, Papirfly, Bynder, Standards, Corebook.

Sometimes it was easy to find systems and sometimes I have just a few examples because most pages are closed environments. To get a feeling about the quantity visit the stats page.

Go to the list view and create a filter by system with the desired system.

#2 How do I name my Brand Portal?

Sometimes it shortens discussions enormously if you have figures and examples from comparable companies. There is a Name column in the list view for this purpose.

It has turned out that it depends - obviously - on the languages or whether it is more strategy-, marketing- or design-motivated, but also on the scope and the intention: How close or far away is my target group from the brand, how much "persuasion" still needs to be done?

#3 Thinking outside the box

I have found some of the most impressive brand portals among American universities. These are large, comprehensive sites managed by a good team that see brand as part of communication.

A topic that most people are already familiar with: what does the brand department actually do? How can it be cleverly integrated?

There are a few examples of this too. From the American universities to clever, well-designed one-pagers that are embedded in the company website.

Go to the list view and search for universities (edu), government organisations (gov) or organisations (org).
